You can help us save more pets and find them fabulous forever homes!

All of the medical and other care we provide costs money, and not all of it is recovered by the adoption fees. We try to keep fees very reasonable to encourage adoptions, but that means we need additional funds to subsidize the adoption program.

If you would like to help, please consider sponsoring a shelter pet or otherwise providing financial assistance. Sponsorship provides medical care and food for a cat or dog waiting for a new home. You will receive a card with a picture of your sponsored pet when it is adopted. With the holidays approaching, now is a great time to make a gift donation in honor of a special friend or family member who cares about animals. Just include a note with the name and address of your gift recipient and we will send them a card as soon as we receive the gift donation. What a great way to celebrate the season and support the shelter! We use Patented Kuranda Dog Beds because they are durable, chew proof and easy to clean. If you would like to donate a bed to us, click here.

And the big one… A multifunction Laser printer with fax/copier/printer/scanner capabilities.
Our old printer/copier is just that… OLD! And, it’s very slow and temperamental. Our fax machine has also seen better days!

To find us, take Highway 92 (A Avenue) to 11th Street North in Oskaloosa, then turn north on 11th Street until you come to a t-intersection at J Avenue East. Take a right (east) on J Avenue and follow the road as it winds around until you see our green sign. Take a left at the sign and follow the road all the way back. If you would like more directions, please call the shelter at 641-673-3991. (Friendly warning: Unfortunately, Mapquest does not give good directions to our shelter. Please call and we'll be happy to help you find us. It's really fairly easy!)

Open Hours The shelter is open Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am until 6:00 pm and on Saturday from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm.
