***FEATURED LAPCAT***

Our Featured Cat is Emerald, named for her gorgeous green gem-like eyes.  Initially a shy young lady when she arrived at LAPCATS, she now freely socializes with volunteers and her feline friends.  She prefers a quiet household without children but loves attention, grooming, and feather toys.

LAPCATS (Laguna Adoption Program County Animals TEAM Sacramento) showcases and promotes adoptions of adult shelter cats.  Run by  Sacramento County Animal Care and Regulation (SCACR) volunteers with help from TEAM (Teaching Everyone that Animals Matter, the local nonprofit associated with the shelter), LAPCATS strives to match people with companion animals for mutual compatibility and lifetime placement.

Our cats are screened thoroughly for personality, temperament and health while in the shelter, and in sponsor care.  The sponsor family evaluates the cats for “pet ability” and how the cats react to normal day-to-day situations with other people and pets.

Upon placement, our cats are all spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, treated for fleas/ticks, de-wormed, vaccinated, and have been tested for FELV/FIV.

Are you ready for a cat?  Animals can add tremendous joy and companionship to our lives, but they are not perfect, and involve responsibility and commitment.
