Pet Adoption Fund is
the largest private Non-Profit No-Kill Rescue Organization in Southern California,
founded in 1983.
We are staffed primarily by volunteers, and exist solely on private donations
and adoption fees. Our mission is to rescue, shelter, and find
loving permanent homes for the many wonderful, yet previously abandoned,
neglected or abused companion animals, with special emphasis
on our senior and physically challenged dogs. On the average, our facility
houses around 175 dogs and 60 cats, of all sizes, ages and breeds;
and all are anxiously awaiting for their chances to great homes.
All of our pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated (rabies if specified),
and microchipped. All pets are provided with a personalized tag and collar.
We are placing what we believe to be a healthy pet. If the situation proves
to be otherwise, we will help with health care, provided through our
veterinarian. To assist you with the transition of a new pet into your
home, we offer a free phone consultation by a professional trainer/behaviorist.
However, if the adoption does not work out for any reason, we ask that
the animal be returned ONLY to Pet Adoption Fund.
Our adoptions are subject to approval, an adoption fee, and a home-check
(in most cases).
You must be over the age of 21 to complete an adoption application & contract.
A valid California ID is required for adoptions.
We are an all volunteer organization and welcome your participation
in several rewarding activities, such as:
Walking our dogs, spending time with our cats, grooming our dogs and
cats, helping in the office.
For info, email: petadoptionfund@sbcglobal.net
We are also in need of newspapers, blankets & comforters, rugs, bed
linens, towels, cat and dog toys, beds and baskets of any size,
cat towers, dog houses, steel food bowls, brushes and combs, dog and cat
food (cans). All donations are greatly appreciated
and help enhance kennel living while our pets are awaiting for their second
chances. Thank you so much for your contributions.
We are in desperate need of volunteers who will foster kittens and puppies.
If you are interested, please call Lori at (818) 317-6191. She will explain
what needs to be done,
and assist in their placements. If you've never been a foster parent...it
is the most rewarding experience ever.

Directions: We are located
in the West San Fernando Valley, in Canoga Park, at 7507 Deering Avenue,
between Sherman Way and Saticoy, 1/2 block East of Canoga Ave.
