Metropolitan Maltese Rescue
Metropolitan Maltese Rescue is a nonprofit corporation (501(c)3), dedicated to placing homeless Maltese and Maltese-mixes in loving, responsible, permanent homes. Our vision is to be an active partner of a no-kill community where there are no homeless pets.
Because our Maltese have been in foster care, we are able to evaluate their temperaments and let you know whether a dog is right for your home and lifestyle. All our dogs are vet-checked, spayed/neutered and current on vaccinations prior to placement. We operate solely within the NYC tri-state area. Metropolitan Maltese Rescue is a proud participant in the Mayor's Alliance for NYC's Animals.

Adopting a Friend
If you are interested in adoption, please complete the online application form on our MetroMalts website. Once your application is complete and submitted, you will be considered for our pet adoption list. Please note that our area of service is in and around NYC (includes northern New Jersey, southern Connecticut, Long Island and NY counties just north of NYC). We do not place our dogs outside of the NYC tri-state area. An adoption fee of $250 is required for dogs over 4 years old; $400 for younger dogs.

Volunteering and Donations
We are an all volunteer group and desperately need more hands and hearts to help our beloved breed. If you can do anything to assist: foster care; shelter liaison; adopter screening; dog evaluation and/or training; accounting/bookkeeping; public relations; fund raising; etc., we would love to hear from you.
