"WE NEED YOUR HELP AGAIN"Over a year ago the Humane Society of York County put out a cry for help. We were lucky to hear from the public and for that we are very thankful. Due to their help, we were able to keep our facility operating.
Your donations are desperately needed again, so we can meet every day operating expenses, as well as working on rescues and education for treatment of animals.
Please help us take care of the animals!
Our next goal is to expand our spay/neuter clinic. Studies have found if we can move towards controlling the population, it will help diminish excessive animal cruelties and medical problems. We are very thankful for all the public has done, unfortunately for us to expand the spay/neuter clinic it will be costly and we will require continued support.

Who We Are
The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) was founded in 1976 to help address the needs of an ever-growing animal population. Originally, all animals were cared for in the homes of dedicated volunteers. In 1999 we moved into a modern facility in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with the capacity to house approximately fifty cats and fifty dogs.
The HSYC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals.
Our mission is to prevent animal suffering, to help reduce overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering, to educate the public about animal welfare, and to place adoptable animals in loving homes.
The ten-year goal of the HSYC is to have a larger facility, complete with indoor/outdoor runs, an enclosed play area, and other amenities.
