Who We Are
One At A Time, Inc. is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) dog rescue located in Berkeley County, West Virginia. One At A Time does not have a facility or site - the dogs are cared for in my home. I rescue homeless, abused, and abandoned dogs one at a time and take them to my vet for the necessary vaccinations and tests, including heartworm and Lyme disease. If the dog is injured or ill, I do whatever it takes to bring him or her back to good health. I rescue adult dogs of all breeds. Because of my unique fostering set-up, each dog has lived in a home with other dogs, cats, birds, etc and I can give you first-hand information on how the dog reacts in these situations.
Adopting a friend
When a dog is ready for adoption, meaning healthy, as socialized as possible, house trained, crate trained, with some obedience work, I bring him/her to a pet store or other venue to show to the public for adoption opportunities.. I also put flyers up in various places and advertise on petfinder.com. Vet checks and home visits are mandatory before any dog is adopted out.
