Meet Our Shih Tzu of the Month...!
My name is Ozzie and I was recently rescued from a puppy mill. I am learning all about the wonderful life outside of a cage - toys, food, people, love and lots of doggie playmates. I love playing with toys and especially like the fuzzy ones. I am also learning about potty training and what it is like to walk on a leash. If you can give me a loving and safe home, I would really like to come live with you. I love to run, romp and play, so my new family would need to have a fenced yard.

Fuzzy Pawz Shih Tzu Rescue needs volunteers. We currently only have less than half a dozen consistent volunteers, and a couple of occasional volunteers. As we do not have a facility, you do not need to be located in a specific area of IL or WI - and most of the following can be done from home:
We need a volunteer coordinator.
We need a fundraising coordinator.
We need someone who would be interested in working on a monthly newsletter.
We need someone who would write grants.
We need reliable foster homes.
We need a shelter liaison.
We especially need help at adoption days and special events.

Fuzzy Pawz Shih Tzu Rescue WI/IL is a network of volunteers and foster homes throughout the state of Wisconsin and Illinois. We take in Shih Tzu and Shih Tzu mixes from humane societies, animal shelters, owner surrenders, etc. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which means that your adoption donation is completely tax deductible!
We are always looking for volunteers! If you have a special talent that you'd like to share (fundraising, website development, sewing, baking, jewelry making, etc.) or if you'd like to share your home as a foster parent we'd love to hear from you! As always monetary donations are graciously accepted!

The Application Process
Prospective adopters first fill out our adoption application. This application asks basic questions regarding children, history of pet ownership, what qualities you desire in a dog, etc. This application also asks for three references. We will contact your references and then schedule a home visit. The home visit is not by any means an inspection. It is our way of getting to know you and finding the perfect dog for your family. After the home visit you are considered an approved adopter and will start receiving information regarding our dogs in foster care.
