The Last Resort (and Spa) Specialty Cat Rescue is located in southeastern Wisconsin, in Fredonia, a rural community about an hour North of Milwaukee. We are a very small rescue operation, generally taking in only one or two cats at a time. We specialize in abused or abandoned purebreds who need intensive one-on-one nursing and psychological rehabilitation before being rehomed. Because our rescues have suffered horrible abuse, we are extremely particular about the homes they go to. We require an application, plus references, including one from your vet. We do require an adoption fee (varies with animal) which is refunded all or in part if the animal is returned to us. Due to the guidelines under which we operate, we almost never have kittens available. We do accept purebreeds or mixed-purebreed cats from endangered or emergency situations, but we do NOT accept owner surrenders or cats from the public.. Once in a great while, for whatever reason, of course, we must break our own rules. Currently we have four young cats who were feral, and were rescued and are now friendly, house-trained and looking for loving homes.
