DMPC is looking for a new site to house our orphaned cats until they are placed into new homes. We would like to stay in the Des Moines area and will consider anything available. We are now in a 1500 sq. ft. store space where meeting the rent due has always been a problem, so we are looking for something with low or donated rent.
Who We Are
DMPC is a nonprofit, cageless, (come and mingle among all our cats) no-kill cat adoption center dedicated to placing rescued cats into new, permanent indoor homes. Our rescued cats are mostly from apartment complexes in the Des Moines area where they are left behind. We are privately funded by and welcome any donations.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is a minimum of $100.00, to cover the cats' veterinary care, which includes spay or neuter, vaccines, wormings, testing for FeLV and FIV viruses, and microchipping. Our adoption procedure involves some paperwork, consisting of an application and adoption contract. We do a home visit, after which the cat gets groomed before going to its new home. What a good deal!
Come Visit Us!
Use the Des Moines exit off I-5 from either north or south. Turn right off either exit and come straight down the hill 2.5 miles, and we are on the left in a shopping strip with six other stores. A volunteer is in everyday, but the hours can vary, so it is best to call ahead.
