Abandoned Cat Team
Adopt A Cat In The Methow Valley...
The cats we have for adoption are friendly tame cats and you can see them on our Petfinder Pet List or at Heaven Sent Toy and Gift Shop on Riverside Avenue in down town Winthrop.
Who We Are
A.C.T.’s primary focus is to promote humane feral cat population management. We trap feral cats (cats that were born wild, or have become wild due to the neglect or abandonment by people), spay and neuter them, return them to their colony (where they were living), and feed them for the rest of their lives. A.C.T. can provide information to anyone wishing to become involved with this activity, known as Trap Neuter Return. About 60% of all unaltered cats go feral in 3 to 4 years. Our other primary focus is subsidizing the spay and neuter of the cats and dogs of low income families. Our mission in general is to significantly reduce the over population of cats and dogs in Okanogan County through an agressive spay and neuter program. We are always desparately in need of funds to carry on this work and welcome donations of any amount. We are a 501 ( c ) (3) non profit organization so all donations are tax deductible. A.C.T. is an all volunteer organization so all donations go for helping the cats and dogs. We are also in need of Foster Homes and Volunteers. Please call or E-mail Dot Schank if you would like to be a part of helping to reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs in our area. Phone: 509-996-3784 E-mail: rescueranch@centurytel.net.
How To Adopt A Friend
All our cats are altered, vaccinated and treated for parasites before adoption. If you choose one of our kitties, A.C.T. requires that you commit to providing: 1. yearly vet exams and vaccinations; 2. heated indoor accommodations in inclement weather; 3. food and fresh water daily; and 4. an abundance of love and attention. In return you will be richly rewarded. We do not adopt to families intending to declaw a cat.
Fees
The adoption fee is $40. While it doesn't cover our foster and veterinary care costs it helps to offset them.
Where We Are
A.C.T. does not have a facility. All our abandoned friendly cats are fostered in private homes until an acceptable home can be found for them.
