  • Driving Directions There’s a new path to the Everett Animal Shelter! If you are traveling to the Animal Shelter, please remember 36th Street is now closed to traffic three blocks east of Broadway Avenue at Smith Street.

To get to the shelter, follow these instructions:

  • Just east of the northbound offramp from I5 onto Pacific, there's a stop sign at the railroad tracks. Stop at the sign, and cross the tracks, angling to your right. Follow that paved road, heading south, until it turns into a gravel road. That road will lead you between the railroad tracks on your right and the huge earthen berm on your right. At the end of the gravel road, you'll be forced to make a right turn and that will put you onto 36th. Take 36th until you get to the shelter, which will be on your left. If you have any questions about these directions, or the road closure in general, please call the shelter at 425.257.6000 and press 5 to speak with a staff person.

  • The Everett Animal Shelter is now offering a special adoption fee for the "Cat of the Week"! For a limited time the adoption fee for the "Cat of the Week" is only $45.00. This fee still includes micro chipping and assures that the cat is spayed or neutered and ready to go home with you today! Hurry and take advantage of this special offer.

The shelter is required to hold stray dogs and cats for a minimum of 72 hours for owners to claim. After the dog or cat is made available for adoption, there is no set time that we hold them. This all depends upon the animal's temperament, health and available space in the shelter. We will not "reserve" an animal for anyone. However, we will hold an animal for up to 1/2 hour for an interested person to get cash, written permission from their landlord, or to bring a family member to view the pet. Animals will be spayed or neutered before being released to the adopter.

    Mission:

The Animal Control Department's mission is to encourage, secure, and enforce those animal control measures deemed desirable and necessary for the protection of human health, safety, and welfare and, to the greatest extent possible, prevent injury to property and cruelty to animal life.

The Shelter temporarily houses stray and abandoned companion animals. These animals, in many cases, are made available for adoption to the public. Contracts are maintained with other jurisdictions, such as unincorporated Snohomish County, for use of shelter facilities.

    Announcement:

Donations are needed to help cover the cost of continued medical care for the animals. You may mail your donations to The Everett Animal Shelter 2732 36th Street Everett, Washington 98201 or simply stop by and visit!
