In addition to arranging for foster care, placement and adoption of Basset Hounds, we can often answer questions and provide information that helps Basset Hound owners address behavioral problems or overcome barriers to maintaining the Basset in their original home. We are always happy to facilitate a more successful home life for Bassets and their people if it is at all possible.
This is a rescue organization, not a shelter. When you call these numbers, you are calling private homes. Please bear this in mind early and late.
We do not list lost and found dogs.
Donations are always gratefully accepted and carefully used to directly benefit the Bassets we serve. The primary costs we incur are for veterinary care for the dogs. Every dollar makes a big difference in the lives of the dogs we take in and place!
Every year, we host Droolapalooza, a gathering of Bassets and their people - to have fun, connect, educate, and raise some money for the hounds' vet bills....Plan on it for next Labor Day weekend! Contact artietam@attbi.com for more information!
Foster homes - they are great - we love them - we need them!
Dogs placed with Cascadia Basset Hound Rescue are placed in the best homes possible. Owners who relinquish to Cascadia Basset Hound Rescue agree that placement decisions will be made by the rescue representative. Potential adopters are asked to provide basic household information and references, and may be asked to allow a home visit as well. Our policies are designed to ensure the dogs/' best welfare.

We do not have a single fixed location. Our dogs are located in a variety of foster homes, and occasionally with the families that are placing them for adoption. Driving directions will be provided when visits are arranged. At present, all our foster homes are in Western Washington and Northern Oregon.
Cascadia Basset Hound Rescue accepts Basset Hounds for placement, and screens and educates potential adoptive homes throughout Washington and neighboring states. We work cooperatively with other rescue organizations to ensure the best permanent homes for wonderful Basset Hounds.
Adoption fee is typically $150-$200/dog. These fees are applied to veterinary care for Basset Hounds while they are in foster care, including spay-neuter and medical care as needed.
