Our Featured Pet...

Meet Polo: UPDATE: She was taken to the groomer and now looks like a puppy!! She wins the doggie make-over of the year award!! They've literally shaved YEARS off her life, in a good way! She was so burdened by all that mess of hair that now she looks and feels great too! She's 2-4 years old, spayed, current on vaccs, and dewormed. This poor girl was found wandering on the pound's road, a few miles south of the pound facility. She was very dirty, matted, and scared.

News

ATTENTION: This site is not a full listing of all curent dogs in the New Kent Sheriff's Office Animal Control Pound facility. It is for dogs available for adoption and some courtesy posts. If you have lost your dog, call us to report it missing and visit the pound directly during the hours listed below. Remember: In accordance with VA Animal Laws: Pets are personal property AND If you have found a pet in New Kent County, you must call us at 804 966-9500 and report it as found, with a description and contact information. No matter how bad of condition you think it's in, it may have a caring owner looking to reclaim it. You do not have to turn the found animal into the pound, but you must report it as found. Licensing: Returning pets to their owners is very important to us. We strive to get every dog licensed in New Kent Co. Licensing your dog will help protect him/her from becoming just another statistic. Annual license fee is only $6.00, if you have not purchased your 2008 County License, please do so right away, it's the law!!! Please help us increase the number of pets returned to their owners; keep the County License fastened on your dog's collar. If you lose your tag a replacement is available from the Treasurer's Office for the cost of $1.
Donate a Bed We have chosen Kuranda dog beds because they are so good for our dogs. We want to fill all of our kennels with these excellent beds. If you would like to donate a bed so that a lost or homeless dog can sleep in proper comfort, please click here.
