A program that offers food and care for animals of those who are currently receiving assistance through the "Meals On Wheels" program. This program is funded and operated in memory of Marilyn Taylor, its founder.
As an unsheltered humane society, we rely on housing adoptable pets in loving private homes until an animal can be placed with a permanent family. Donations help with the cost of food and veterinary care.
With the overwhelming pet overpopulation problem in the Northern Neck, we are dedicated to having each animal that is adopted from the NNHS, spayed or neutered before being adopted. This is a costly, but worthwhile endeavor and we are fortunate that the local veterinarian hospitals are working with us to offer this program.
This program is designed to encourage senior citizens to adopt a companion animal, no matter what the age of the animal, and not to be concerned with who will care for their pet if something should happen to them. Owning a pet is very rewarding and senior citizens can provide very loving homes. This program offers the support for caring for these pets should the owner be unable to do so.
Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions regarding these, or any other assistance program.
