The Twin County Humane Society is always in need of volunteers. If you think you could help out with fundraising, education, or fostering, please call 276-728-4038. We also accept donations.
Who We Are
The Twin County Humane Society is a group of individuals who care about the animals that are in need in the city of Galax, Grayson, and Carroll Counties. We have several committees that play a part in saving animals.
The pets listed on Petfinder are all private foster animals in private homes. We are not a shelter and do not have a facility or adoption center. We help facilitate adoptions only. We are a 501(c) nonprofit charitable organization.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in one of our animals, please contact the foster parent or owner of that animal. Most animals require an application which will be sent to you if requested. For Twin County residents, there is a $75 and $100 adoption fee for the dogs that are already spayed/neutered, vaccinated and tested for heart worms. For individuals wishing to adopt who are out of this area, the fee is $100 and $125. Animals in private homes have different requirements depending on the owners wishes.
