Our 16 unit kennel building has been a hive of activity since its completion in 2004. We have had dozens of beautiful and furry guests
who are treated like royalty by our band of dedicated volunteers. It
is bittersweet to see one of our pets go to a new home, we will miss
him, but we are soon excited to see the new kid on the block and
welcome him with the compassion and love that we are so good at
showing to animals.
BARK's major fundraiser for the year, the Hearts and
BARKs Gala for Valentine's Day was a huge success. This is a celebration of our love for our pets and shelter animals. Attendees were treated to a fabulous meal, live entertainment, and auction opportunities. Each year since its inception, funds raised exceed the previous years' event. Members and friends look forward to this evening each year at the Bosque Conservatory in Clifton.
Who We Are
BARK is a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 status. We are all volunteers and dontate our time, energy and finances. BARK meets the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Bank of America building in Clifton.
In 2006, BARK raised $35,000 through fundraisers and donations. This
is currently our only source of operating income. Our success depends
upon the generosity of our community and the tireless energy of our
super volunteers.
BARK's focus is spay and neuter in order to reduce the stray and
unwanted pet population. Our goal is to someday only use our shelter
to house lost pets until their owner can come and claim them. In
other words, we work toward a day when unwanted animals are no longer roaming our communities and all pets are in loving homes. Currently BARK has embarked on a trap-neuter-release program for free roaming cats.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fees are $75.00 for dogs and $50.00 for cats. This incluldes spay/neuter, shots and health check.
