Welcome to Pals For Pooches! We serve the entire Houston area and are here to provide you with pertinent information regarding responsible pet care, animal welfare and the activities of our organization.
ABOUT US
Our mission is to help dogs and puppies, find the homes they deserve, and get the medical treatment they need. We will work with individuals and organizations to provide help to our canine companions.
Pals for Pooches was started in 1999 to address a desperate need in this community for providing shelter to abandoned and lost animals.
One of our founders had a store in downtown Humble that was not being used and she decided to turn this into a much needed shelter for homeless or abandoned mothers and puppies or other dogs that needed shelter and medical care.
We had a shelter for close to 2 years. However at this time our shelter is closed due to the "not in our neighborhood" attitude of local people and the City of Humble. Pals for Pooches continues to care for dogs and puppies through a home based foster care program. At this time we are in desperate need of local foster homes for large dogs. If you think you can help us in this area please email us.
Adopting a friend
Pals For Pooches offers a great pet adoption service. Placement of healthy animals with responsible and caring individuals is one of our most important goals. Each prospective owner is required to sign an adoption contract ensuring proper care and treatment of the pet being adopted.
The adoption fee includes...
An animal that has been spayed or neutered, or will be spayed or neutered if not old enough at the time of adoption, to fight the problem of pet overpopulation.
An animal that has passed a health exam and temperament test.
An animal that has received its respective vaccines to protect both you and the pet.
