Our shelter is open to the public, and we encourage everyone to visit. The dogs and cats love the attention!
For pet compatibility, we advise everyone to research the breeds that they are interested in adopting. To review various breeds' attributes, you may consider the American Kennel Club's website, www.akc.org/breeds.
As a municipality, we definitely encourage you to spay or neuter your pet!
We are now accepting monetary donations which are allocated to our severe cruelty cases. So, if you or your company are in a charitable spirit, please donate!
Irving Animal Services has been serving the citizens of our wonderful city for over 30 years. We have a dedicated staff of 14 employees.
Our Mission:
It is the mission of the Irving Animal Services staff to provide quality service to the citizens of Irving while dedicating ourselves to improving the coexistence of animals and humans.
Our Action Plan:
Total Adoption Fee = $70 - $100
We accept cash or check and require a photo ID (i.e. driver's license) is required. Upon adoption, you are required to review and sign our adoption agreement. It basically states that you will take care of the animal; you will abide by city ordinances; and you are responsible for having your new pet spayed or neutered by the corresponding contract date. Thus, you must be 18 years of age or older. We do not have an application process.
Location: 100 N. Briery - NE corner of N. Briery and Rock Island Rd.(approx. 1½ miles south of Hwy 183; between Beltline & Story roads off of Rock Island Rd.).
