About PAWS

P.A.W.S. (Public for Animal Welfare Society, Inc.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and shelter for animals, serving Hays and surrounding counties in central Texas. We are a no-kill Shelter; and our staff work hard to ensure that every animal we receive becomes part of a loving family.

Mission Statement.

PAWS' mission is to care for, protect and find quality homes for abandoned and neglected animals; to aid in the reduction of pet overpopulation; and to provide community education for the mutual benefit of animals and people.

P.A.W.S. Vision Statement

P.A.W.S. envisions a time when our community celebrates the human-animal bond, the overpopulation problem is solved, permanent homes for animals are insured, and all animal suffering ends.

Adoptions and Fees

Once you make the decision to adopt from us we will ask you to fill out an adoption application and a adoption contract. We love every dog and cat in the shelter; so naturally, we screen applicants to help make sure that each pet goes to a permanent and loving home. If you adopt a puppy from us then we require that you both attend an obedience class. There will also be a adoption fee that varies from $75 for older dogs to $140 for puppies.

P.A.W.S. is located south of Austin in Kyle, TX on the East side of IH-35

From north or south, take I-35 to Kyle and take exit #213
Go east on FM 150 (P.A.W.S. is east of I-35)
Continue approx. 1/3 mile east of I-35 and turn right into the P.A.W.S. parking lot. (It's the first right hand turn on Hwy 150 East).
