Meet Lyra

I was found by an ACO from another area and was taken to the local shelter. The shelter folks fell in love with my quiet demeanor and soulful eyes. I had one known problem. I had a skin irritation that caused me to lose fur and have scabs everywhere. No one was going to adopt me in that condition. The shelter folks pleaded with HBAR to help me. One look at me and HBAR just had to give me a chance.

Since that time, I have been under treatment, which consisted of initially some dips and then some medicine, and am now cleared for adoption. I just love people and give kisses galore. I want to be with my family. I have one drawback, though, and that is that I love to jump fences - high fences. So, I can never be left alone in a fenced yard. For my own safety, I need to go to a family that is willing to always have me on a leash or secured when I am outside. In return, I will give you unconditional love. I am truly a special dog.

Homeward Bound Animal Rescue, Inc. is an all volunteer non-profit no-kill organization dedicated to rescuing companion animals and placing them into foster homes until they can be permanently adopted. Schedule of adoption:

  • 11:30 - 4pm:
    • Southlake Petsmart 1st, 2nd 3rd and 4th Sunday 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturday

Donations

Volunteer your time at an weekend adoption day at Petsmart by taking care of animals and people. . . .

Help by donating food or supplies. . . .

Make a monetary donation to help animals in need of medical care.

Any way you can assist us in providing care for our precious foster animals would be greatly appreciated!

Homeward Bound depends on donations to provide our foster animals with food, supplies, and all medical treatments. And now, many new puppies have arrived! Help us provide care for our new young fosters!
