Who We Are
Please check out our MHS web page for more information at www.metroporthumanesociety.org. MHS is an all volunteer, non profit 501c agency with no paid employees. We depend on donations to fund our programs in spay/neuter, animal welfare, lost & found, humane education and pet placement. We serve the area around DFW airport in North Texas primarily Southlake, Grapevine, Keller and Roanoke.
Adopting a Friend
MHS sponsored PETS: We do not have a shelter and all our pets are kept in private foster homes until placed.All will have been seen by a vet, tested , neutered and given shots. An adoption donation of between $75- $125 is asked to reimburse some of the medical costs we incur. We try to match people & pets so that everyone is happy. We only place pets after we have interviewed the person and in most cases have done a home visit so that means WE ONLY PLACE PETS IN NORTH TEXAS.
COURTESY LISTED PETS and SHELTER pets We also keep a listing of other pets in the area that need homes and can often refer people to other groups/owners/shelters.. For these courtesy listed pets MHS CANNOT GUARANTEE MEDICAL OR BEHAVIOUR STATUS AND CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE PLACEMENTS The fee charged for these pets will depend on the expenses incurred by the owner/finder/shelter.
We DO NOT SHIP OUT OF STATE. Enquiries should be made via our E mail address metroport9499@yahoo.com as we cannot respond to long distance telephone enquiries. An application for adoption will be E-mailed back to you.or you can go to our website to fill out an adoption application. A donation for adoptions is requested to cover some of the costs we incur.An adoption application can be seen at www.metroporthumanesociety.org.
Volunteering and Donations
We always need volunteers to help in our programs especially new foster homes and people to man our telephone line which is open every weekday from 9a.m - noon and 2p.m. - 4.30p.m.
Donations of cash or items are always very welcome and a receipt will be given if requested.
