Humane Society of Sumner County

Our Pet List

Meet a Star: Elizabeth Taylor!

Who we Are:
The Humane Society of Sumner County (HSSC) is a small, private, non-profit (501c3) service organization that promotes the humane treatment of abandoned, lost, and displaced animals. HSSC provides temporary shelter, necessary medical attention & mandatory vaccinations, and sterilization to aid in population control. Our adoption staff joins loving, qualified and responsible people with these animals and works diligently to re-unite incoming lost animals with their people. HSSC encourages the public to help control the over-pet population through spay and neuter awareness and offers assistance to people who qualify. HSSC has diligently served this community since 1974 and is solely supported by donations.

Here are some of the things that we do:
Adoptions
Offer shelter to those homeless animals in need.
Maintain a lost & found service
Lots of belly rubbing

If you have lost an animal, please email or bring a flyer with a photo and description of your companion to our shelter so that we can post on our lost/found board.
We scan every animal that comes in for a micro-chip ID. Please have your animals micro-chipped ~ it may save their life one day.

We are looking for kind-hearted and talented folks to help us with our constant building maintenance. It would be greatly greatly appreciated!!!!
If you are a General Contractor or Sub-contractor who can provide work specializing in: Painting, Concrete, Fencing, Door Hanging, Roofing, HVAC, or Landscaping, the donation of any time and/or materials toward the repair & maintenance of our facility would greatly help us maximize our percentage or revenue that we dedicate directly toward the animals and their care.
We need you!!! Please help if you can and contact: Sandra Cherry @ scherry911@aol.com

Your Can Counts!

And so do your newspapers! We have large containers located outside of our facility to collect your newspapers that are picked up by the recycling company. Also, please recycle your aluminum cans and bring them to our shelter. There is a fenced in area to the left front of our building where you may drop your cans off ~ the money generated from the recycling of the cans and newspapers goes directly to help out our animals and our shelter.
Thank you for your donations - they do make a difference!
