Chattanooga Area Guinea Pig Rescue

Our Pet List

Pet of the Month

Hi, My name is Inga. I am from a very large rescue (about 45 piggies they tell me) in Chattanooga, TN. I am a red and black aby. I am a very sweet little girl. I was born in September of 2000 at our rescuers home. I have one sister who is also waiting to be adopted! We live in the same cage and love being together. If you can give one or both of us a home, contact the rescue at chattareagprescu@aol.com

News

Chattanooga Area Guinea Pig Rescue is currently housing about 10 piggies who are need of loving homes. Inga is only one of many beautiful guinea pigs at the rescue. If you can help provide a loving, clean, safe, and healthy home, please contact us.

Who We Are

We began rescuing in May of 2000. We helped with a very large rescue out of state and saw a need for a rescue in Chattanooga. We have rescued in excess of 200 guinea pigs in these few months and only 10 currently seeking homes. We are a no kill shelter. All animals recieve the best care, love and attention we can give.

Adopting a friend

In order to adopt a piggie from Chattanooga Area Guinea Pig Rescue, you must be totally committed to giving him or her a lifetime home, with all the love, hay, veggies and attention one piggie could ever dream for! You must have a proper and clean living quarters for a piggie. It is important that they are safe from predators and are never bred. We require an application, a contract and a very small adoption fee.

Please note: Guinea Pigs are,. . . well, pigs! They poop alot and like to dump over their food and let their water bottles leak all over their clean cages. However, they are the most loving of all critters! They will give you so much love and be totally devoted to you! We feel it is very important that anyone considering a piggie knows that they have cages that have to been cleaned at least weekly, ideally every 3 or 4 days depending on the type of bedding you choose. If you keep the cage clean, they do not smell! I promise, if you choose a piggie, cleaning the cage will be something you want to do for your little piggie, not something that is a chore!
