FELINE FELICITY
Please note that the youngest feline I currently have is approximately ten months old (Little Gray Girl). Very unfortunately, unless homes are found for some of my current rescues, I will not have ANY room to take in new felines ... including baby kittens ... this year. Please consider something other than a baby. My feline rescues have had services that would normally cost over $300 (minimally!) at a vet already done (read more detail below), and the adoption fee remains EXTREMELY minimal compared to my financial investment in all of them. Feline Felicity is basically one person so can only manage local home visits and adoption approvals. Thank you!
Hi, my name is Crystal, and this is my story: Ms. Tana was extremely tired after a long afternoon / evening / night of trapping stray cats the night before the next Snip and Tip clinic. Disappointed she had a couple of traps left with no cat caught to go in them, she had her eyes peeled for more strays on her way home. That is when she caught a glimpse of me - behind Mrs. Winner's on Lowry Street - scrounging for food scraps in dumpsters and on the parking lot ground. So, she pulled into the parking lot, set a trap, and waited patiently. After about an hour, the smelly mackerel fish and her patience paid off. I was trapped. Then I went to Snip and Tip and was spayed and vaccinated. I have also made a trip to the vet and been combo tested negative. Ms. Tana thought since my personality was afraid, but certainly not aggressive at all and since I was mostly lynx point Siamese that I might be adoptable. So, she has kept me in a three tier kitty cage condo with another rescue Siamese kitten. Ms. Tana has made friends with both of us. The kitten will probably adjust to a new home much faster than I will. I am extremely shy and scared. I will try to avoid being touched (by everyone except Tana) and if I get out of the cage, I just run as fast as possible to the best hiding place I can find. When Ms. Tana went to visit her family at Thanksgiving, her housemate accidentally let me out of the cage and could never get me back in. After a while, he did not even know where I went to hide because I am really good at it. When Ms. Tana got back, she put on her "think like a cat hat", so to speak, and found me out in the attached garage, totally burrowed inside an unused water heater. She had to take the water heater apart to get me out of there! I was really spooked, hungry, and thirsty. I have been safely and happily secure and content in my kitty condo cage ever since. And I still respond to Ms. Tana, raise up to be petted by her and stuff. I will even roll over and let her rub my tummy and under my neck and chin. If you think I am beautiful and are a very patient, loving cat person that will work with me slowly and over a long period of time, I think I could be very happy. It will just take a very special person. Update: April 2008 -- not as shy and scared as I was, but the cage is still my preferred safety and comfort zone. I will now let Ms. Tana pick me up without struggling to get away. I love to talk and have many different sounds that I make to try and communicate with people. I am a beauty and deserve someone who will be patient, loving, and kind. Is it you? I would need to start off in a smaller confined area of your house as free reign in the entire home would be too overwhelming for me at first. You have to take baby steps with me, and I know if you do that we will be fine together.

Who We Are
At Feline Felicity, established in 1988, all cats and kittens are examined by a veterinarian, tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, external and internal parasite free, FVRCP vaccinated appropriately for their age, and spayed or neutered prior to being adopted out into new homes. Rest assured you will be given a health record for your pet with all services and dates provided. I, Tana Taylor, founder of Feline Felicity, almost NEVER adopt out an unaltered cat because compliance for spaying and neutering is, unfortunately, less than 60%. When one has been in the rescue, animal control, humane association, or veterinary business well over a decade, one becomes painfully aware of the overpopulation problem resulting in too few adoptions and definitely too many euthanasias. As a result, I composed this signature for my personal e-mails: "Each and every birth of a cat or dog adds to the overpopulation problem. For every single kitten or puppy you allow to be born and find a home, know that one is euthanized at a pound or shelter because no one adopted it. For their sake, SPAY and NEUTER YOUR PETS! PLEASE! IT MATTERS!"
Adopting a friend
You may "fall in love" with a kitty and its story and "know" you want it just from what you see and read on here. However, you may call to set up an appointment to meet the feline(s) prior to making a decision on which one(s) to consider for adoption. There is a minimum adoption fee of $75, payable in cash. (Due to previous incidences of checks written on closed accounts, insufficient funds, or stopped payments, Feline Felicity no longer accepts checks.) This fee will continue to provide maintenance (food, litter, etc.) and veterinary care for the other cats and kittens that are being housed at Feline Felicity or have yet to be rescued. You will be required to complete a detailed questionnaire and adoption contract which must be approved by Tana Taylor prior to adopting a pet. Part of this approval process does include a home visit prior to the final step of me personally delivering the feline to you and its new home.
Here at Feline Felicity, these cats are housed strictly indoors, and have only cohabitated with other felines and me, an adult woman in a fairly quiet, consistent, and settled environment. For that reason, I do not think the majority of them would do well with children less than twelve years old, in general, although I am sure there are some exceptions. The cats' only exposure to dogs have been looking at mine either outside, through the windows, or on the porch and patio, through the storm/screen doors. In that regard, some of the cats would more than likely adapt to dogs while others probably would not. Please realize that all cats have individual personalities, and their adjustment time to new people and environments may vary greatly.

I can no longer accept phone calls as no one was wanting to adopt ... only to add more rescues to my already overwhelmed home. I cannot even afford to care for the ones I currently have without donations and, very unfortunately, donations are few and far between.
So, if you are interested in ADOPTING a feline or two, PLEASE e-mail me at feline.felicity@gmail.com!! I will respond as soon as I realize I have received mail from you. If I am out of town or my computer is down, this could take up to 48 hours. MAY 2008 UPDATE: FOR SOME REASON YET UNKNOWN, I CANNOT ACCESS MY GMAIL, SO PLEASE USE ALTERNATE EMAIL ADDRESS OF thetanacat@yahoo.com FOR MORE PROMPT RESPONSES! THANKS!
Donations can currently be mailed to Southern Veterinary Center, 111 Mayfield Drive, Smyrna, TN, 37167. Checks can be made out to SVC. PLEASE INDICATE on your check that it is to be credited to Feline Felicity account # 16689. I purchase a lot of supplies from Tractor Supply, so a gift card for TSC would be appreciated as well.
