~SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU THINK~
Dog Poetry ~ Stray's Prayer ~
Dear God, please send me somebody who'll care!
I'm tired of running, I'm sick with despair.
My body is aching, it's so racked with pain,
and dear God I pray, as I run in the rain.
That someone will love me and give me a home,
a warm cozy bed and a big juicy bone.
My last owner tied me all day in the yard
Sometimes with no water, and god that was hard.
So I chewed my leash, and God I ran away.
To rummage in garbage and live as a stray.
But now God, I'm tired and hungry and cold,
and I'm so afraid that I'll never grow old.
They've chased me with sticks and hit me with stones,
while I run the streets just looking for bones!
I'm not really bad, God, please help if you can,
or I have become just a "Victim of Man!"
I'm wormy dear God and I'm ridden with fleas,
and all that I want is an Owner to please!
If you find one for me God, I'll try to be good,
and I won't chew their shoes, and I'll do as I should.
I'll love them, protect them and try to obey....
when they tell me to sit, to lie down or to stay!
I don't think I'll make it too long on my own,
cause I'm getting so weak and I'm so all alone.
Each night as I sleep in the bushes I cry,
cause I'm so afraid God, that I'm gonna die.
And I've got so much love and devotion to give,
that I should be given a new chance to Live!
So dear God, please answer my prayer,
and send me someone who will REALLY care..
That is, Dear God, if YOU'RE REALLY there!

Fundraiser
We need volunteers to help plan and work towards a major annual fundraiser. Please let us know if you are willing to help.
WISH LIST:
If you have it in your heart to make a donation to Tennessee River Rescues, please mail to 355 Angotti Road, Crump, TN 38327 or bring it by personally. If you can't donate but want to help maybe you could offer physical assistance with various projects. Our dogs need TLC, leashtrained, walked, and socialized to help them get ready for adoption. Adopting, fostering, or rescuing one of the dogs would take some of the load off. Prayers are always welcome.

Stainless Steel Bowls, Dog Beds, Brandname Pet Foods, Dog Collars and Leashes, Flea and Tick Protection, Heartworm Medication, Dog Shampoos and Dips. Used Bed Pads, Towels, Pillows, and Linens and various household items you no longer need.
Who We Are
Mary Davis is the founder of this organization. She works day and night to save and care for dogs and other animals in Hardin County, TN. We hope to adopt out or find rescue groups to place these dogs in good homes. Many of the dogs were pulled from the local municipal high kill animal shelter, many of them come in when the shelter is overcrowded and refuses them, others are owner turn-ins and/or strays. As space and donations allow, more dogs are brought in to our foster care.
The municipal animal shelter does not accept "county" dogs so many of these end up at Tennessee River Rescues as space allows. The less fortunate are dumped in rural areas or on shopping center parking lots and left to fend for themselves.
All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by the IRS. We are an IRS - 501 (c) (3) qualified non-profit organization.
Adopting A Friend
Average Adoption Fees for Mixed Breed Animals:
$75 Dogs & Pups - spayed or neutered, up-to-date vaccinations.
$40 Dogs & Puppies - yet to be spayed or neutered.
$60 Cats & Kittens - spayed or neutered, up-to-date vaccinations.
$30 Cats & Kittens - yet to be spayed or neutered.
Adopter must sign an adoption contract guaranteeing spay/neuter if not previously completed.
We are always OVERFLOWING and will reduce adoption fees on longer term pets if you meet all other requirements. Some medium and large dogs are available for lower adoption fee to qualified adopters.
Fees for special "in-demand" breeds may be higher. We are a non-profit and funding is always needed to help the mixed breeds, injured dogs, and provide supplies to keep all of the dogs in the best shape.
Please do NOT adopt one of our dogs or cats if you aren't truly prepared to share your love and provide a forever home.
