We are in the process putting together a team of investigators, animal control officers, and volunteers to help put a stop to Animal Abuse and Neglect including DOG FIGHTING. Can you help? Did you know there are people out there that raise and train dogs for the sole purpose of fighting them with another dog to the death no matter how long or short the time may be? It is true it is a popular "sport". They put 2 dogs face to face and cheer and make bets while their dogs tear each other to bits all the while claiming to love their animals. One of our many goals is to put a stop to this sick group of people and to those who abuse and neglect their animals.
Thanks to the Board of Directors, the support of our community and people like you Our Spay Nueter Clinic is Officially open! Now not only are we spaying and/or neutering every single animal that walks out our own door but we offer low cost spaying and neutering to the public!
We are working to one day become a no-kill shelter. It will take a great deal of time and effort from us and the public getting involved by spaying and neutering their pets but we will get it done! IF you would like to become a member weather it be to vote on our board or just get monthly updates on our progress you can pick up the necessary forms to do so at either the shelter or the adoption center! This too will help to raise the funds we need to become a no kill shelter!
Since 1991 the Doc Williams SPCA believes that animals, as living creatures have value beyond economic measurement and are entitled to legal, moral and ethical consideration and protection. Our mission is to:
Over 10,000 animals in Berkeley County alone are put to sleep because of the animal population. Did you know that Berkeley County is the size of Rhode Island? Did you know that each man, woman and child would have to have 8 animals per person in order to give all the animals a home? Did you know that only 1 out of 10 animals in a shelter get a home? Please help stop the over population and have your animal spayed/neutered. The Doc Williams SPCA will assist anyone who is low income that wants to have their animals spayed/neutered. Call 843-797-0610 or 843-761-0683 for more information on this program.
