The Humane Society of York County, serving Fort Mill, Rock Hill and surrounding areas, receives NO funding from York County, the state of South Carolina, or any animal welfare organization. The sole source of funds for the HSYC is donations from local residents/businesses.

Our Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program is temporarily suspended due to the abundant amount of applications/animals waiting. Currently we are ONLY spaying/neutering animals adopted from the Humane Society of York County until further notice.

The Humane Society of York County (HSYC) was founded in 1976 to help address the needs of an ever-growing animal population. Originally, all animals were cared for in the homes of dedicated volunteers. In 1999 we moved into a modern facility in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with the capacity to house approximately fifty cats and fifty dogs.

The HSYC is a non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals.
Our mission is to prevent animal suffering, to help reduce overpopulation by promoting spaying and neutering, to educate the public about animal welfare, and to place adoptable animals in loving homes.

The ten-year goal of the HSYC is to have a larger facility, complete with indoor/outdoor runs, an enclosed play area, and other amenities.

Tuesday - Friday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Saturday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Sunday 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM 		At PetsMart & PETCO
Saturday and Sunday
11:00 AM - 3:30 PM

From I-77, Exit 85, take Hwy. 160 West towards Tega Cay. Turn right at the first stop light onto Carolina Place (Same road as BP, Lowes & Chick-fil-a.)
The shelter is down on the right at 2036 Carolina Place, Fort Mill, S.C.
