Towels needed!
We are in need of towels, any size. PLEASE NO SHEETS, COMFORTERS OR QUILTS. We have a very LIMITED storage area and need ONLY towels at this time! You can call us or just come by. If no one is at the shelter, just drop them outside the gate, but make sure they are in a plastic bag, so not to get rained on. Please contact FURBALL418@aol.com or 401-233-1492. Thank you so much!
Volunteering!
Volunteer's are very important to keeping the animals happy and well while in the shelter's care. We LOVE our volunteers! You must be at least 21 years old. There is no cleaning or feeding, just walks and cuddles and pets to all the animals in need of love and attention while they are in our care waiting for a new home. Saturday and Sunday (8am-2pm) are PERFECT for volunteering or any night after school or work perhaps, we are open until 10pm weeknights (except Monday) You can volunteer for 20 minutes or stay 2 hours, it's your choice! If you are interested in finding out more about volunteering, you can contact Larna at FURBALL418@aol.com Thanks!
Good News!
We had a VERY successful OPEN HOUSE on November 27th for the shelter! We are all so proud of all of the great renovations and updates done to the shelter which seriously needed an face-lift! Many thanks go out to Chief Ernest Spaziano for funding this project and to our new Mayor Charles Lombardi, we were able to finally have our little shelter look like it should! HUGE thanks to Senior ACO Richard Starnino for coordinating all the efforts and the hard work done by ACO Richard Starnino, ACO Ernie Calandra and all the wonderful and professional painting done by ACO Darren Barnes. Everthing looks great! Some of the improvements done to the shelter include a new roof and gutters over the cat area, newly constructed pulleys to all the dog kennels, the entire interior of the shelter painted and all the interior floors resurfaced with epoxy to extend the life of the flooring.
Foster Care Program!
If you or anyone you know would be interested in helping with our FOSTER CARE PROGRAM for a dog or cat, please contact Larna at FURBALL418@aol.com. It's such a rewarding experience for both you and the animals and it helps to socialize them and ready them for a forever home. Foster caring is your choice and how long you keep them is your decision. A month, weeks or days.....any help is beneficial to the animals! Thank you!
Who We Are
We are a division of The North Providence Police Dept. We have 3 full time Animal Control Officers, an adoption/volunteer/foster program coordinator and 11 volunteers. We are a small shelter consisting of 6 dog runs, a cat room which houses 12 cats, a quarantine area which houses all cats for 10 days prior to them entering the general population and our open cat room, Rosie's Room. Our goal is to place each animal in a caring and loving home, and to keep each animal safe, healthy and happy until we do so.
