Dear Friends of Mel..
It is with the saddest of hearts to inform you that our Dearly Beloved Mel, passed away on October 8th, 2007.. Mel succumbed to a sudden but brief illness, and he left us pain free and peacefully. Mel left pawprints on all of our hearts, as he always gave his love unconditionally. Mel would want you all to know that he thanks you for the times you came to visit, the walks he so enjoyed taking with you, and to always cherish every moment that we were fortunate to have had him in our lives...
Mel will always be with us..

We are trying to build a new state of the art shelter outside the gates of the landfill. Donations can be made to: Stand up for Animals, P.O. Box 1706, Westerly, RI 02891. All donations are tax deductible.
Who We Are
We are the animal control facility for the Town of Westerly
Adopting a friend
All adoptions are $65.00. For intact animals $40 is returned after the animal is spayed or neutered.
Come Visit Us!
We are open Mondays through Saturdays- 8:00 am to 3:30pm. Sundays by appointment. Since we are Animal Control for the Town of Westerly we maybe out on a call when you stop by.
We are located off Westerly-Bradford Road (Route 91), on Larry Hirsch Lane, in Westerly, at the Transfer/Recycle Center.
