Second Chance Animal Rescue
FEATURED RESCUE OF THE MONTH
BUSTER

MAY 2008
Buster was rescued down the road from the rescue lying semi-conscious on the side of the road. Vet determined that he had been severely attacked by other dogs with lots of wounds and trauma. All he wanted was to be loved. He thrives on sitting in your lap and loves being in the house. He is 2 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Buster is cautious upon meeting new people, but warms quickly once he knows you're his friend. He holds no ill will towards other dogs. Buster has never been with small children so they are an unknown....knowing his background, we want his life to full of enough love to fill his heart. All he wants is a human companion and a lap to sleep on. SatoHeart@yahoo.com
Who We Are
We are Second Chance Animal Rescue of Puerto Rico. We are a no kill, non-profit organization founded to help improve the quality of life of the animals in Puerto Rico. Dedicated toward improving the basic care, and safety of the animals. As members of The Puerto Rican Federation of Animal Protectors, we work in conjunction with other organizations to achieve our common goals to help those that can't help themselves. Our Mission is dedicated to the safety and well being of the animals. We rescue animals that are neglected, abused, abandoned or unwanted by their owners. Please help us get our new year off on the right foot, by making a donation today. Our needs far exceed our abilities and any help would aid our mission to rescue the many forgotten strays of Puerto Rico. We are a small group of animal lovers just trying to make a big impact. With your help, we can keep our doors open. Thank you~
A typical rescue includes a trip to the veterinarian for a complete health check-up which includes vaccinations, worming, heartworm check and spay or neuter. If there is a more serious condition we go the extra mile.
We rehabilitate the physically and emotionally distressed soul. Then we find a good home that meets the requirements of Second Chance Animal Rescue both within Puerto Rico and the United States. Through our best efforts, we address all medical needs of each rescue however, we simply can't treat what we don't see and thus cannot assume any financial responsibility for the rescue once it has left our care. The adopter must therefore assume all medical needs and liability at the time of adoption. Thank you.
Adopting a friend
To adopt a dog or puppy from us please go to our website by clicking on "Visit Our Home Page" below. Go to "Adoption Guidelines", then click on "application" and copy and paste our application form into email. Once completed, send to satoheart@yahoo.com.
By requesting information on an animal and initiating the screening process, it is not a guarantee that the particular animal that you have inquired about is yours to adopt. This is only the first stage of the adoption process. S.C.A.R. does not place our animals on a "first come, first served" basis, but does adopt to the best home possible for the animal. Generally, our mission is to find the right match for you and the rescue so that all parties can live happily ever after!
Our rescues are ready for adoption from head to toe. We must ask for a minimum donation of $250 to cover their medical expenses and rehabilitation. We hope that you'll be inspired by our fight to given them a better life and thank you in advance for your support.
Through the coordinated efforts of volunteer animal lovers, we are now able to complete stateside adoptions.
Where there is a will, there is a way!
