Calendar of EventsMicrochipping/Vaccination ClinicsThe next vaccination and microchipping clinic at the Delaware County SPCA will be held in the spring. We are asking pet owners to show their love by microchipping and vaccinating their animals. The shelter will offer the clinics from 3-6 pm on all of the dates above. The cost for vaccines will be $5 for rabies and distemper and $25 for microchip including registration. Because of the popularity of our clinics, the line can be long. We ask that you arrive by 5:15pm to be serviced by 6:00pm.Foster Program!

Rescue groups:
You
must make arrangements through either our Kennel Foreman or Adoption Clerk
or via e-mail to move the animal into rescue.
If you are interested in one of the pets listed here, please visit the shelter during our adoption hours! Our staff is extremely busy and we have only one phone line, so it is difficult for us to handle calls about each animal available for adoption. If you do call regarding a pet, please use the Pet ID number "Tag#....." given in the pet's description.
Before you visit the shelter, you must have a realistic idea of your resources for pet care, so that you can make an appropriate choice. Most pets live 10 years or more and you must be prepared to make a time and cost commitment to their care over their entire lifetime. To get a realistic idea on the costs of owning a pet, click on Estimated Yearly Costs of Pet Ownership.
For more detailed information on this subject, please see our home page at: www.delcospca.org and click on the "Adoption" link.
We request that potential adopters arrive approximately 45 minutes before closing, so that you have time to see the animals and we have time to assist with the adoption process. We start the last adoption approximately 15 minutes before closing time.
All
pets adopted from the Delaware County SPCA MUST be neutered. Looking

The Delaware
County SPCA is a 501c3 non-profit, charitable organization registered with
the Pennsylvania Department of State. We are not affiliated with any local,
state or federal agency or any other SPCA or humane group. Our work is supported
almost entirely by private donations. We work
hard to place all adoptable animals. In many cases this means providing extra
medical care, grooming, rehabilitation and socialization to give the dogs
and cats every chance of being adopted. In addition
to caring for animals at the shelter, we provide other services in our community
such as animal rescue service, seven days a week, 24 hours a day. We also
work constantly to promote responsible pet ownership and combat animal overpopulation
through low cost spay/neuter programs, community programs, disseminating printed
information, publicity and special events like Spay Day USA. For more
than 25 years, our Director of Education has presented programs to hundreds
of groups, from school children to senior citizens. Our programs stress the
need to spay and neuter pets to prevent overpopulation and teach respect for
all animals. For more

HELP NEEDED
Looking for a great way to give back to your community? How about a rewarding
resolution you can keep? If you have what it takes to make a difference
in an animal's life, email our Volunteer Coordinator.
No experience is necessary. We will provide you with the training. You must
be 16 years or older to volunteer; however, if you are not, you and your
friends can still help the animals by raising money or by holding a drive
to help collect items on our
WISH LIST. We are especially looking for people with a background
in fundraising.
WE CURRENTLY
HAVE A GREAT NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
THANK
YOU FOR CARING!

DONATIONS

Your kind contributions will help us to provide food, care and shelter for thousands
of homeless, unwanted animals. Our work is supported almost entirely by private
donations from individuals, businesses, corporations, foundations and personal
bequests from people who have named the SPCA in their Wills. We are not affiliated
with any local, state or federal agency or any other SPCA or humane group. Thank
you for your generous support.
Thank you for your generosity.
PET TIPS
Ask your Vet about microchipping your pet. It will help
us to identify your escape artist if he becomes lost and is brought to us.
Identification tags can come off easily but microchips can't.
