Adopting a friend

Home at Last Humane Society operates a small "No Kill" shelter in The Dalles, Oregon. In addition to our shelter we are very fortunate to have many very dedicated foster homes. We utilize our foster homes as much as possible so we get to know our adoptable dogs and cats very well because they actually live with us on a daily basis. Whenever possible we let the potential adopter talk directly to the foster home to get as much information as possible before adopting their new family member.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered before adoption, are current on vaccinations and microchipped before going home. Keep in mind that we usually know our animals very well and not every animal will be a good match for every home. If you pick out a pet that we think won't be a good fit we will tell you and try to help you pick our a better match so you and your pet will be happy for many years to come.

Please make sure that you fill in the name of the dog or cat you are interested in at the top of the application. We will look over your application and be in contact with you.
