Smoke
Hi – my name is Smoke … some kind people rescued me from the bitter cold this past Winter from the city streets of Scarberia. I now live with other kitties and a big ol’ dog who I get along quite well with, although, if I’m honest, I need some more attention. I love to play and have really enjoyed my time here but I'm ready to move on to the family who's going to be my one and only for the rest of my life! I am about 3 years of age and, as you can see – I’M GORGEOUS!!! Please call PAWS right away if you are interested in giving me the forever home I desperately crave.

Paws offers a safe haven for pets who have been abandoned or abused. Some reside at our shelter, while others are placed in one of our temporary foster homes. They are cared for by animal lovers who are aware of the trauma most of these pets have endured, until a permanent loving home can be found for them. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE LIST OF ANIMALS IN OUR CARE CHANGES FROM DAY TO DAY. IF THE PET YOU ARE LOOKING FOR DOES NOT APPEAR HEREIN, WE RECOMMEND CONTACTING US DIRECTLY AT marisa@pawscanada.org or 416-520-7995. You can also visit our website at www.pawscanada.org for more information about our group. Thank you for your interest!
Paws is a registered charity established in 1972 by a group of people whose intention was to better the lives of as many homeless, abused and abandoned animals as possible. Their dedication and that of all the volunteers who followed, have created a safe haven for a great number of abused and neglected pets over the years. Our Board of Directors and volunteers are committed to improving the lives of stray, abandoned and unwanted companion animals. PAWS is managed exclusively by volunteers and we enforce a STRICT NO-KILL POLICY.
PAWS volunteers are an integral part of our organization, and new volunteers are always welcome. If you are interested in helping, please give us a call!
Our Mission
Paws observes a strict No-Kill policy. Our goal is to care for and protect homeless, abused and abandoned pets by promoting spay/neutering; reducing the overall pet population, and by placing rescued pets in carefully selected adoptive homes, where they will be loved and appreciated.
PAWS insists upon, and offers in writing, a commitment to welcome back at any time, any pet adopted from our organization. We do not want these pets ending up in pounds where they could be euthanized or used for research purposes.
How You Can Help
PAWS does not receive government grants of any kind, and relies solely on the financial and emotional support of compassionate, animal loving people.
Here are some suggestions for pet lovers who wish to assist PAWS in their quest to lessen the suffering of homeless animals:
