Our site is now set up with pictures for most of our animals. We hope that pictures will make it seem more personal for the animals that are in our care and who are waiting for adoption.

The Almaguin Animal Shelter thanks all people who help support our shelter. All donations are greatly appreciated and will be put to good use.
Who We Are
The Almaguin Animal Control Shelter covers South River, Sundridge, Magnetewan, Burks Falls and surrounding areas. It has been in operation since 1982. The main goal of the shelter is to provide a safe place for lost animals until they can be returned to their owners. This search is aided by the assitance of the local by-law officers. If an owner cannot be found the animal is temperment tested to see if it is adoptable. Every effort is made to help ensure that animals that come into the shelter are placed in loving and caring homes.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in adopting a pet from the Almaguin Animal Control Shelter please email ljhallan@hotmail.com to contact us for more information. All animals are spayed/neutered and needled before leaving the shelter. New owners pay for half of the vet's bill while the remainder is paid with money from publc donations and fund raising activities.
