Adrian and Cassius are our very first adoptions through Petfinder! They went together to a wonderful home with a nice family and are fitting in very well.

Our Featured Pet...

Kalar is a beautiful grey and white female with long fur . She has been in our program for quite a long time and would LOVE to be adopted into her own home. See her picture and maybe you'll be that special person to take her home.

News

Kitten season is just around the corner.. PLEASE have your pet altered. And NO, you shouldn't let her have "at least one litter" Quite the opposite! Spay/neuter BEFORE the first heat to help prevent all kinds of health problems.

Who We Are

Kitty Cat Keep is a no-kill, non-profit, 100% volunteer animal rescue group. We deal mainly with the "strays" and "throwaways" in our area and in the Niagara Region. We rely totally on volunteers and donations and fundraising to keep us afloat. Our goal is to have our own building/shelter. As is stands, we have the cats we rescued in our own homes and it gets to be quite crowded and when we are full, we sadly have to turn animals away. We are always looking for more members/volunteers to foster and to help with fundraising events. We do everything we can to help people "keep" their pets, hence the name Kitty Cat "Keep." We have a quarterly newsletter available to members for only $20 per year and that also gives members a 10% discount to a local pet food store.

Adopting a friend

I once had a lady tell me that our adoption process is "like adopting a child" To me that was a compliment. Animals are living beings that depend on us to make the right choices for them and that is what we are trying to do. With our adoption process, you would first come and see the adoptees and at that time you will get a detailed application form. Once the form is filled out, we will call you discuss this with you. If all goes well and we both agree to our adoption policies. The adoptee that was picked out will then be taken to your home and at that time we have an adoption package filled with information regarding health, behaviour etc. At that time you will sign our contract which in short form says 1. that you will NOT have cat declawed (if pet adopted is a cat),2. You will have pet as an INDOOR pet (we only adopt to strictly indoor homes for cats, unless of course on a leash, supervised) 3. We are allowed to make unannounced visits to check on the welfare of animal adopted and 4. If for any reason you are not able to keep the adoptee, he/she will be returned to a member of KItty Cat Keep. Our adoption fee is $100 per cat and that includes complete vet check (deflea, deworm etc), 1st shots (minimum), AND spay/neuter. Because of our home visit policy we cannot adopt to cats out of the Niagara Region.

Come Visit Us!

At this time, we don't have our building, per say. All of our adoptees are in various foster homes. We now have 3 pet stores that are letting us "showcase" our pets. Global Pet Food in Niagara Falls, Paulmacs at the Rose City Plaza , Ontario Road in Welland, and Pet Valu at the Zellers/No Frills plaza in Port Colborne. To see our cats in foster homes please call 905-788-0605 to arrange a time to come and visit them.
