Diamonds in the Ruff
Who We Are
Diamonds in the Ruff is an obedience training program at CCA-Diamondback Correctional Facility in Watonga, OK. Teams of two select inmates live and work with a dog for 12 weeks, teaching basic manners and some tricks. We are the professional trainers who teach the inmate trainers. We choose temperamentally sound, healthy shelter dogs for this program, the best way to prepare them for a new life.
Our Featured Pet...
BigDog is pretty much a couch potato. He would really love a daily walk and lots of naps! He is a heeler mix and is in training so that he will be ready for his new family.
News
The trainers are doing a wonderful job. We expect another set of well-mannered, fun-loving pups to graduate in January. You can help us reach our goal of a loving, committed home for each graduate by calling if you see a dog that's right for you.
Everyone is welcome to fill out an application, even if you haven't any particular dog in mind. We would be happy to help you choose the right companion for your family and lifestyle.
Adopting a friend
Contact our adoption coordinator at the phone number or e-mail address below for an application. All our dogs are meant to be family members and sleep in the house with you.

Come Visit Us!
Since our dogs live at the prison until graduation, you must call CCA-Diamondback Correctional Facility directly at 580-614-2000 to make an appointment to meet a dog you are interested in adopting. Current class dogs are listed here.
All dogs not adopted by graduation are returned to the shelter/humane society they came from. Call and we can make arrangements for you to see them. Any Pets and People dogs not adopted by graduation return to their humane society in Yukon, OK and you can see them at Pets and People Humane Society.
