Who We Are

Greyhound Pets of America Oklahoma Chapter is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding loving, responsible indoor homes for retired racing Greyhounds. Most of our Greyhounds come to us from racing farms and kennels in Oklahoma. The farms often have Greyhounds that just aren't fast enough to go to the track. Approximately 18,000 Greyhounds per year are adopted into pet homes through the combined efforts of organizations in the US.

Adopting a Friend

The first step in adoption of a greyhound from GPA/OK is to fill out an application and have it approved which takes about 2 to 3 weeks.

You will be notified by a GPA/OK representative when the application process is complete. Please be patient, the approval process is done strictly by volunteers, most of whom have outside jobs.

For a $160.00 non-refundable adoption fee you get a greyhound comes with the following:

Veterinary exam
Vaccinations
Heartworm test
Worming
Neuter / Spay
Collar and leash
GPA/OK ID tag
Adoption manual
Dental care, if necessary
Ongoing support

Volunteering and Donations

GPA is a nonprofit organization, so additional donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

Come Visit Us!

We are at Southern Agriculture at 71st and Sheridan on the first Sunday of every month, the 21st Street Borders on the third Saturday of every month, and the 41st Street PetsMart on the fourth Sunday of every month. Please note that because this is a volunteer organization, we may not have the voluteers to fulfill these obligations every month.
