Our Pet List

Pay us a visit!

We will make sure your pet is spayed or neutered before they go home with you.
Did you know that health experts say having a pet is good for both mind and body? Yes, they say having a pet or two around can help you stay healthier or live longer.

Are your pets neutered/spayed? Getting your animals fixed should be one of your first responsibilities as a pet owner. There are not enough loving homes to adopt all the needy pets. The Humane Society of Grove is special in that we are a non-euthanizing facility, but we are forced to turn away as many as 50 animals every month. Most shelters can not afford to maintain this policy and are forced to humanely euthanize hundreds of animals each year because no homes are available. Help reduce the number of homeless animals in our community and have your animals fixed.

Our selection of adoptable pets has never been better! Stop by and see for yourself! You are sure to find a match for your family.

Who We Are

We are a non-euthanizing facility. We give our animals a home until we find a good home for them. We have many wonderful dogs and cats to choose from. It is heart-tugging to see the longing looks in their eyes and faces as they look for someone to take them home.

Our program to improve socialization experiences and the adoptability of our long term residents is going well.

Volunteers and shelter workers can now work with the dogs to improve their socialization skills, such as walking with a leash, and obedience. They are also more visible and approachable for prospective adopters.

Adopting a Friend

Stop by during our regular hours or call our shelter for an appointment. We are always anxious to find our friends a new home.

Please note: Do to the number of animals coming into our facility, our Pet List represents only a sampling of our available pets. If you have a particular pet in mind, please give us a call. We may have what you are looking for or we can take your information and call when a pet matching you description arrives. We maintain a logbook for that purpose and for a list of referrals to contact.

Volunteering and Donations

We depend on donations and memberships. We do not receive any government funds so we depend on our community for support.

Could you be a Volunteer? Our VOLUNTEERS help us with a number of tasks, such as walking dogs for socialization and exercise, giving our kittens and cats some loving human contact, folding newspapers for cages, and assisting with Society presentations at events away from the shelter . You would be surprise how much just an hour a week can help the animals. - for a few examples.
