Who We Are
The Berea Animal Rescue Fund, Inc. (affectionately called "ARF") is a volunteer, non-profit organization that shelters, rejuvenates, and finds homes for stray animals that are brought into the shelter. The shelter will only accept animals from the animal warden or the police, and only from within the geographical limits of the city of Berea. Due to limited space, the shelter is unable to accept unwanted pets. Stray or lost animals are given a temporary shelter with a "No Time Limit" policy until they are adopted into loving permanent homes or until a lost owner claims the pet.
The Berea Animal Rescue Fund provides all medical needs, including leukemia testing of cats, heartworm testing of dogs, deworming, spaying and neutering. Sick and injured animals are treated if there is a positive prognosis.
The city of Berea provides the building and all of the utilities for the shelter. All other operating costs are paid by The Berea Animal Rescue Fund through donations, adoption fees, and fundraising efforts by our dedicated Volunteers.
Adopting a friend
Our main goals is to place animals in loving, permanent loving homes.
If you are interested in adopting one of our available animals, you will be asked to fill out an application that will be reviewed with you by a senior volunteer before you may adopt a pet. Once this is successfully completed and you have selected a cat or dog, you will be asked to sign a contract of adoption, a copy of which accompanies the animal when it leaves the shelter to go home with you.

2-4pm & 6:30-8pm
Saturday & Sunday:
3:00pm - 6:00pm.
