Who We Are
We are a county operated dog shelter with the hopes of finding permanent homes for our unwanted and stray adoptable dogs. It is the Shelter’s philosophy that quality far outweighs quantity. We do not want the dog to come back because of irresponsible ownership. Most people choosing a pet from a shelter have done so with the desire to provide a good home to an unwanted stray. Careful screening of those wishing to adopt can help guarantee a successful, lifetime placement with a responsible owner.
Make a Donation
Our shelter is always in need of donations. Some of the top items on our wish list are paper towels, new and gently used towels and blankets, office supplies, garden hoses, gift cards from local stores (e.i. WalMart, Office City) and dog related items such as dog biscuits, 2 quart stainless steel dog dishes, collars and leashes.
Adopting a friend
Our adoption fee is $16.00 which includes the cost of a dog tag. We try to keep our animals updated as far as availability, but before driving a long distance for a certain animal, please call to check if the animal is still available or the availability of our other adoptable dogs.

Our office hours are Monday through Friday 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m., Sunday and Holidays open by appointment.
