Who We Are.....A 501(c)3 Non-Profit Rescue
FIDO's Companion, formerly called Cleveland K911, is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Rescue Organization. We are a small, family run rescue made up of volunteers dedicated to saving one life at a time and providing our rescued dogs with top quality care until we can find them a new forever home. FIDO's Companion believes that the value of what we do is not in the Quantity of animals we save, but in the Quality of the new life we provide to them.
We fully vet all of our dogs including spay & neuter.
We operate out of Avon, Ohio. We focus primarily on rescuing dogs from the Lorain County Dog Kennel in Elyria, Ohio before they are put to sleep. We also work to educate the public about humane treatment of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering pets.

Unfortuantely we are unable to take any owner relinquishments at this time. Our foster homes and boarding facilities are being dedicated to dogs saved from high kill shelters.
We are tremendously grateful to the many individuals and organizations who have helped us find homes for our rescued dogs. Your hard work and dedication to the animals is a very admirable achievement.
FIDO's Companion is always in need of more volunteers who can help with transports. We also desperately need dog experienced families who can foster the numerous dogs we rescue each year. Adopting a friend
If you wish to adopt one of our great pets, go to our website at www.fidoscompanion.com and submit an application on our adoptables page. Once your application is submitted and approved, we can set up a time for you to meet the dog(s) you are interested in.
We do not operate on a first come, first serve basis. We strive to find the most compatible home for our dogs and look for adopters who are certain they want to make a lifetime commitment to our rescued dogs. We also require a home visit as a part of our adoption process. If we do not have an animal that interests you, we may be able to help put you in contact with the many other organizations with which we network.
ADOPTION FEES - Individual fees apply based on each dog rescued.

Our Featured Pet
Silly Sully is our featured pet. He is an approx. 1 year old Dobie, Chocolate Lab mix. He is a tall, dark and handsome boy! He is being obedience trained by Mel McGrath of Paramount Dog Training and is in a foster home learning all about good dog behavior. Sully has a true desire to please people and is very intelligent. He is not hyper but does need activity and exercise to keep his mind and body stimulated. He would do best with an experienced dog owner and another big dog to play with may be a good thing. He is not a candidate for a home with cats due to his chasing instincts. Please come meet this fabulous boy.....he may be a work in progress but based on his loyality and desire to bond with humans, he is truly a diamond in the rough!!!! Come Visit Us!
We do not have a shelter. Our rescued animals are kept in foster homes or boarding facilities primarily on the west side of Cleveland until loving forever homes can be found. Please remember we are all VOLUNTEERS who work full-time jobs. We will do our best to return your emails/calls within 24 hours.
