Who We Are

NORR is an organization of experienced Rottweiler owners who provide care for abused, neglected and abandoned Rottweilers. Rottweiler Rescue was formed for the purpose of rescuing pruebred Rottweilers and to promote an understanding of the breed. The popularity of the Rottweiler has resulted in irresponsible breeding and ownership. Many Rottweilers are abandoned to starve, run as a stray or dumped in shelters. The average rescued Rottweiler is between one and three years old. Our dogs are temperament evaluated, have heartworm checks, get monthly heart worm medication, receive all shots, are spayed/neutered and live in a foster home. These very special Rottweilers deserve loving, caring adoptive homes, Future owners are carefully screened.

Adopting a friend

All prospective adopters must attend a monthly open house. There you will get to meet the dogs and their foster parents, receive information about the program, and take a application home. After the Open House the NORR board meets to review any applications. Approved applicants and their families and other pets are invited to a second meeting to discuss placement of the resuce Rottweiler they have chosen. Until everything is finalized, the Rottweiler stays with the foster home.
