Have a look at all of our other pets that are up for adoption- both cats and dogs.We have lots of kittens that are not always on our website so please give us a call to inquire. It is hard to always get photos of all our animals so if your looking for something special be sure to give us a call.
We have had several adoptions in 2008 these include Lil or Lady , Einstein , Murphy ,Hanna, Darla, Romeo , Juliet, Dottie,Quinn, Brady and Betty. These are recent adoptions and more are pending.
The Spay Neuter Assistance Program (SNAP) will also be there to show what they do for the animals in our community. They will have applications on hand for those who need assistance with the altering of their anmals.
Also Coming Soon... We have started a not for profit volunteer group to combine all of our talents into one. We will have lots of exciting fund-raisers to improve life for the animals that are at the shelter, to promote adoption from the shelter, and to help educate the public on general animal welfare topics such as the importance of spay/neuter. Meanwhile- keep in mind that there are so many little things that can be done for our small shelter... such as: collecting the "Wish List" items and walking dogs if you are over age 16,

! WE PRIMARILY PROVIDE A SAFE HAVEN FOR STRAY AND UNWANTED DOGS BUT DO HOUSE A SMALL POPULATION OF CATS AS WELL. OUR ANIMALS ARE TREATED AS IF THEY WERE OUR OWN AND WE WILL KEEP THEM HERE INDEFINITELY, IF WE FEEL THAT THE ANIMAL IS ABSOLUTELY ADOPTABLE. WE TAKE OUR RESPONSIBILITY HERE VERY SERIOUSLY AND TRY TO ADOPT TO ONLY THOSE DESERVING OF THE ANIMAL. WE ARE ALSO REALISTS AND PUT PEOPLE FIRST, UNDERSTANDING THAT NOT ALL ANIMALS, PRIMARILY DOGS, ARE SUITABLE FOR THE SAFETY AND WELFARE OF THE HUMAN COMMUNITY. FORTUNATELY, WE ARE NOT CONFRONTED WITH THIS DILEMMA VERY OFTEN WHICH LEADS US TO HAVE AN OVERCAPACITY OF LOVABLE AND ADOPTABLE ANIMALS JUST WAITING FOR JUST THE RIGHT PERSON TO COME ALONG. OUR GUARANTEE IS THIS... WHOEVER PROMISES TO PROVIDE YEARS OF NURTURING AND SACRIFICE TO ANY OF THE ANIMALS ADOPTED FROM THE HORSEHEADS ANIMAL SHELTER WILL BE BLESSED WITH YEARS OF UNSURPASSED LOVE AND COMPANIONSHIP
