Our Featured Pet...

Elmo is a dark gray sweetheart. He is a little shy, but he warms right up to you. He likes to be brushed and gets along well with other cats. Elmo is about 3 yrs old.

News

All of our pets up for adoption are taken to a veterinarian where they are given an initial checkup, tested for feline leukemia , dewormed, defleaed, appropriate vaccinations and spayed and neutered. Any additional medical attention needed is also given.

Who We Are

Helping Animals Live Organization, Inc. (HALO) is a non-profit animal rescue organization dedicated to a No-Kill, Cage-Free philosophy of loving and responsible stewardship. In addition to providing a home-for-life to stray and abandoned cats, we support caregivers tending feral cat colonies and offer placement & re-homing assistance to pet owners of both dogs and cats forced to give up their beloved pets due to illness or other major life change. We rely solely on the generosity of individuals, private organizations, and charitable foundations to support our cause.

Donations

Dry and canned cat food, clumping litter for cats and non-clumping clay litter for kittens would be greatly appreciated.

We are in need of linens, towels, sheets, comforters, blankets, cats beds, cat toys, cat furniture, laundry soap, clorox, paper towels, windex and 30 ga. trash bags for our orphanage. Postage stamps, envelopes, copy paper and long-distance calling cards would also help offset office costs.

Adopting a friend

We have many, many beautiful adult cats and kittens looking for good homes (and puppies and dogs once in a while, too!). There is an adoption form we request people to fill out and the adoption fee is $50.00. If one adopts two animals, the fee for the second one is $25.00. Two pets are better than one, right?

We are based in Little Falls, NY in central New York State (nearest big city is Utica).
