Real Dog RsQ, Inc. is a not for profit organization. Our sole purpose is to alleviate abuse, neglect, homelessness of any/all animals in need and we are particularly dedicated to educating the public about the breed known as the "Am. Pit Bull Terrier".
Real Dog RsQ, Inc. also offers "shelter sanctuary" for those animals that have been deemed "unadoptable" for various reasons. These animals can now live out their lives in a loving home enviroment. Our Adoption Policies: Adoption application, reference, homevisit, adoption fee are all required to adopt. A homevisit is required to see if the dog and home enviroment are suitible to one another and is not a gaurantee of adoption. All dogs have been seen by a vet at least once before being offered for adoption and have been deemed to be in good health. All dogs are spayed/neutered/vaccinated, unless otherwise stated and spay/neuter is required. Any and all other medical is the responsibility of the adopter. No guaranties as to health or temperament past the date of adoption are offered. Adoption fees are non refundable, but tax deductable. Please make certain that you are serious about adopting before contacting us, as we are extremely busy with rescue and our time is very important to the animals. We thank you for considering our rescue and invite you to please come on in and meet our available animals for adoption!

News
As a rescue org. we see many different breeds who suffer from abuse, neglect, abandonment. We also see many different breeds being euthanised in animal shelters and pounds. But the one breed we see suffering the most in these situations is, the American Pit Bull Terrier. Please have your Pit Bull spayed/neutered, please do not chain your Pit Bull outside, please keep your Pit Bull as an indoor pet, please keep your Pit Bull leashed in public at all times and confined to a fenced yard when at home. Please socialize your Pit Bull early and treat him/her with love, respect and a gentle hand. Please be responsible, this breed has suffered enough.
A few words on the "Pit Bull".
These are a very loyal, fun loving, people pleasing breed.
They are excellent with children and adore the company of people. Although they are a true fighting breed and can be aggressive with other dogs, they can also live beautifully with other animals, when socialized and supervised properly. They are affectionate, loveable, comical, and at times quite stubborn. They are an extremely versatile breed who do well in anything they attempt. Pit Bull's truly bond with their owners and aggression towards humans, goes against the true nature of this breed.
Cruelty and neglect are the causes for human aggression and the well cared for, well loved Pit Bull, is not a human aggressive dog by nature. A Pit Bull should NEVER be aggressive with human beings.
This is a wonderful breed with a colorful history and is NOT the breed for everyone. Pit Bull's are strong, both mentally and physically and can sometimes be "too much" dog, for those not familiar with the breed. Pit Bulls are best placed with dogs of the opposite sex and same sex adoptions are not encouraged. This breed is a fighting breed and the potential to fight is ALWAYS there. Anyone thinking of adopting a Pit Bull, should seriously educate themselves about this aspect of the breed. Pit Bulls make wonderful companions, but need owners who are willing to be responsible in their care and deligent about their safety. Pit Bulls require constant supervision with other dogs and should never be allowed to run off lead. Please research the breed BEFORE aquiring a Pit Bull, so you can be sure it is the right breed for you.
