The SPCA is celebrating Fathers Day all month long!

The Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA is excited to announce that June is our "Fathers Day" special. Throughout the month of June, adopt any neutered male cat (1 year or older) at a 25% discount! (Must have an approved adoption application.)

The shelter is located at 2435 State Route 352 in Big Flats. Stop by the CCHS/SPCA for an application (or download one here) and to visit our animals of all ages available for adoption. For more information, call the shelter at 607-732-1827.

Who We Are

The Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA, Inc. is a private, non-profit humane organization. We are not a county agency, or state affiliation, but are funded by memberships, donations, bequests, adoption fees, dog control contracts with most of the townships in Chemung County and a humane contract with Chemung County. In fact, just over 67% of our operating budget depends entirely on contributions from our community.

Hours

Visitors are welcome to come and see the animals during our regular shelter hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday 11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Friday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

We are closed only during the following holidays: Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Adopting a friend

Because of the thousands of unwanted animals born each day, the SPCA requires that all cats and dogs adopted from the shelter be spayed /neutered within 30 days from the day of adoption, or when the puppy or kitten reaches the appropriate age. Our adoption fees include a free visit to a cooperating veterinarian if used within five days.

Dogs and Puppies - $125.00 (includes Spay/Neuter, Shots, Microchip and License)

Cats and Kittens - $70.00 (Includes Spay/Neuter, Shots and Microchip), $80.00 if FeLV/FIV tested
Cat Carriers - $6.00

In addition, all dogs and puppies are required by New York State Law to be licensed by owners before leaving the shelter. All dogs and puppies over 3 months of age must receive a rabies shot .
