AS SOME OF YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW THE CITY OF BEACON HAS LOST 2 K-9 UNITS DUE TO CUTS IN THE DEPARTMENT. THEIR UNITS ARE VITAL TO OUR COMMUNITY FROM EDUCATION OF CHILDREN IN OUR SCHOOLS TO HELPING TO FIND A LOST CHILD ON THE MOUNTAIN OR SEARCH DOWN A SUSPECT TO A CRIME. THESE DOGS PROTECT AND SERVE JUST LIKE OUR POLICE OFFICERS. Donations are welcome and will be brought to local shelters and humane societys to help with the care of these wonderful animals. Many items are needed for the cold winter months Blankets (old ones are fine), Cat litter pans small ones, Old newspapers, cat food dog food can or dry. Toys bones etc.. If you have any items you would like to donate please e-mail Crayolajeep@msn.com.
Who We Are
The City of Beacon is located in Dutchess County, NY just over the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge in the great Hudson Valley. We currently house all dogs at a local shelter. All dogs are held 7 days to be claimed, after 7 days the dogs are put up for adoption. Many of these dogs were someones pet who got lost with no tags or was just not wanted anymore. our Petfinder web page to help reunite them with thier owners or find them new families to love. Many stray and unwanted dogs are picked up within the City Of Beacon and brought to the shelter. We don't have the facilities to house these dogs within the City nor do we have the financial means. The dogs posted on this site need a chance to become a great pet. Can you give them that chance? They won't let you down!!
