Blue Eyes is a real looker. He is a young boy probably about 2 years. He is already neutered and he is very handsome. He has a large hound body, but has those beautiful blue husky eyes. He is a heart breaker. You will surely turn heads when you walk this boy down the street. He young and quite active. Please come meet him and you will agree he is a real keeper!

Please be aware the animals that enter into The Homespun Kennel Facility come from many places. They include strays, seizures & owner surrenders. While we try to evaluate the animal and potential caretaker fully to make the best match possible, it is often impossible for us to know their prior history, behavior and habits.

We have cats galore!! We have them in all shapes, sizes, colors, ages & temperaments. If you don't see one on our pet list that tickles your fancy, just give us a call and make an appointment to see all we have. You won't go home empty handed! All our cats are up to date on rabies vaccines, spayed/neutered, treated with frontline and many have been feline leukemia tested. Adoption costs are minimal (often, just the price of the rabies vaccine).

Who We Are

Homespun Kennels is a privately run facility nestled in the scenic Hudson Valley. We house animals for the Town of Ulster. We have lots of nice animals for adoption, and many of their photos never even make it to Petfinder.com, so if you are looking to adopt give us a call and let us know the type of pet you are looking for and maybe we can help. We are a very busy facility, and sometimes it is difficult to return calls in a timely manner, so please be patient or try back at another time. Your call is important to us.

Adopting a friend

Adoption costs are minimal. For cats: Often the price of a rabies vaccine will take home a furry friend. For dogs: You may be asked to leave a deposit of $35.00 to cover a spay/neuter (if the dog is not spayed/neutered), but if the dog has been spayed/neutered, the price of the rabies vaccine and a dog license is all you will be required to pay.

We are Rescue Friendly!

We are a very low kill facility, and try extremely hard to place each and every animal. Because we want to see every animal get a chance at happiness, occasionally we work with other cities & towns and try to place their animals for them. These animals will be marked URGENT, as they have limited time to find a home, so if you are interested in any of them animals, please call the ACO at 845-246-1312. Please, please remember that the ACO is going way beyond her usual duties in helping these special animals, so please be kind when calling. We all have the same goal in mind, to find good homes for these animals and keep them alive. Thanks much.
