Who We Are
Western New Collie Rescue was established in 1994 in the Buffalo, New York area and to date have rescued 60 Pure Bread Collies. I accept collies from private individuals as well as Humane Societies, Animal Control Officers, and any other legal means. At present I have 3 dogs that have become perminate residences and one of my younger collies do therapy work at area nursing homes.
Adopting a friend
Any one interested in a collie please view the pictures of the available dogs and then we can talk and see what might be a match for you and your family. After that so there are no surprises we get together at the kennel and see how the dog we decided might work for you. You will not be taking a dog home when you come out. You go home and think about it at least overnight then we can set up a time to deliver a dog. I will bring the dog to you and stay for a while and make sure we have an appropriate match. If we are all comfortable the dog will stay, if not the dog will not.
I normally require that you have a fenced in yard or kennel, and an understanding that the dog will NEVER be tied out! If there is a problem with this then don’t even contact me. Collies are a pronominally a family animal and if they cannot be with the family they are going to bark and carry on. We have a contract that also needs to be signed.
