Who We Are
Miko Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc.
is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and providing sanctuary to homeless
and abused animals.
We have been rescuing animals for several years and decided it was the right time to
officially start an animal rescue and sanctuary. Over the years, we've taken in stray cats,
rescued horses from auctions, and deplorable living conditions. We even rescued two
horses from a feed-lot in California with the much appreciated help from True Innocents
Equine Rescue! We've assisted local shelters in providing refuge for "un-adoptable" cats
who have blossomed under our love and attention. Our President is currently on the
Board of Directors for Carpe Diem Equine Rescue, Inc., and has worked with the law
enforcement division of a NJ SPCA investigating and prosecuting cases of animal cruelty.
We will be rescuing and providing sanctuary for cats, and horses.
MARAS will never take in an animal that we cannot care for. We will never euthanize an
animal because we have too many animals to care for. Any animal that comes under
MARAS' protection is here for life unless they are adopted out.
We are solely funded by the generosity of animal lovers such as yourselves. We will be
offering a sponsorship program where a caring individual may sponsor one or more of
our lovely feline friends for $8.00 per month. Adoption fees for our cats will be $35.00. Multiple adoptions will be discounted. Adoption and sponsorship fees for the horses will
be evaluated individually depending on the horse. Again please bear with us during our
initial start-up and growth phase.
